Are you a creative thinker who can deliver innovative and realistic solutions for customers who are threatened with homelessness?  Do you possess excellent communication and organisational skills?  Would you relish the opportunity to use your own initiative whilst working at pace in a supportive environment?  If so, then working in our Housing Service, with the main aim of helping to prevent and relieve homelessness and provide alternative housing solutions, is for you. 

We are looking for an experienced Homelessness Prevention and Relief Officer with at least 2 years' experience of working in a Homelessness Prevention / Housing Operations service.  With exceptional skills to make enquiries and homelessness decisions, you will apply your working knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and other legislation to prevent and relieve homelessness.

You will be supporting customers to find solutions for their housing issues and will do this by providing robust housing advice and support, liaising with private or social landlords and developing personalised housing plans for customers with a firm focus on homelessness prevention to ensure that customers housing and homelessness issues are resolved. 

A strong commitment to providing ongoing exceptional customer service is an essential requirement of this role.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
